  • What is MoboVivo?

  • We are a company that licences and distributes television shows, movies, music (your right not everything is available yet) for delivery on portable devices like Apple TV, laptops, iPods Nintendo Wii, XBox, iPhone and Sony PSP.

  • Do I need an iPod?

  • No.  Any laptop or desktop computer and most mp3 players will play the downloaded files.  QuickTime for Windows and Mac plays back files.  VLC Player for Windows, Linux, Mac, and others also plays back files.  These are free players for all computers.  Even Sony PSP, Treo, XBox, Sansa, Samsung, Sandisk, Wii and other devices have players that are compatible with the files you download from MoboVivo.  In the future, we will be creating specific WebStore for these and other devices.

    • Is MoboVivo compatible with Apple TV?

    Want to watch your MoboVivo shows in the livingroom? Of course you can hook up your iPod, but you can also use your Apple TV.  Apple TV is the perfect solution to "Take it With You". Download. Synch. Watch. Wherever you are.  MoboVivo provides a media service that allows you to watch TV programs on the subway or bus, on your computer, in the office, on your lunch break, in the backseat of the car, in the living room, theatre, and bedroom.


    Do the files work on an iPod? and in iTunes? Apple TV? and iPhone?

  • Yes and yes and yes and yes.  Although there are sometimes problems depending on the version of iTunes.  In the case that the files are not transfering to your iPod from iTunes, simply select Advanced | Convert Selection for iPod and this will correct the problem.

  • Can I copy video directly to my iPod

  • Yes. If you want to the programs to show in iTunes copy them to iTunes. If you just want them on the iPod, this may be necessary as you are syncing more than one computer or running out of space, simply select Manual syncing mode in iTunes (select iPod in Source list, click Summary, and enable Manually Manage Music and Videos option then click Apply) and drag video file from your external drive, thumb drive, DVD or CD onto the files list area with the iPod icon selected in the Device list.

  • Are all these shows on MoboVivo legal downloads?

  • Yes.  MoboVivo has licenced this content for its users.

  • How big are the files?

The typical TV show is 22 minutes long.  This file is around 115 MB and is very high quality at 320x240 screen resolution.  More and more of the programs are 640x480 and around 200 MB.

  • How long does a show take to download?

    A 22 minute program takes about 6-15 minutes to download.

  • What is buy&sync?

    Home delivery with buy and sync

    It is MoboVivo's home delivery program. Buy from your iPhone or at work and then download it at home. buy&sync allows home delivery. Simply purchase the program and click on the buy&sync link in your emailed receipt. MoboVivo will then send you a link to download your purchases on any computer you like.

  • Can I preview the videos?

  • Yes, you can subscribe for previews using the iTunes or email submission below.  We are releasing an inline preview for all the shows shortly.

  • How do I find out when new shows are available?

    1. Subscribe to the MoboVivo content feed in iTunes Subscribe in iTunes.
  • 2.Enter your Email.



  • Can I watch these shows on TV?

  • Sure you can.  Download to your iPod or favourite Personal Media Player and hook up to your TV (or your grandmothers) and press play.

  • Can I watch these shows full screen on my computer?

Yes, using your favourite media player - we like VLC Player for free full screen features.
 

  • Can I download at work at watch at home?

Please do!  Your companies bandwidth has to be used for something other than email.  Burn the files to CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, USB stick or 122 floppy disks if it helps.  You can also download at home and watch at work.  Your companies nice office chairs are a good place to sit back and enjoy... I mean do some training.

  • Can I watch in Windows?

Yes.  Just download the free VLC Player or QuickTime Player and enjoy.

  • Do I get to download the files?

    Yes, they are yours.  Take them with you.

  • Can I watch these shows on my cell phone?

  • Yes, download your shows without the expensive cell phone data plan and extra service charges to the memory card using your computher.  The file format we use is mp4, many cell phones have players.  For e.g. the Sony Treo uses a free player called The Core Pocket Media Player.
