Trevor Doerksen
Founder & CEO
Trevor has been at the intersection of media and technology for 20 years. He has investigated and developed large-scale implementations of streaming video and Internet TV for government and industry. His graduate research into flexible e-content and content repurposing has lead to a multi-million dollar research project, a chapter in the 2002 Handbook on Information Technologies for Education and Training, and the founding of MoboVivo.
Trevor produced one of the first snowboarding films in 1989 and was the executive producer of the science television series, SciQ: Science Revealed. Trevor received Digital Alberta's Entrepreneur of the year, was named one of Alberta's Most Influential People and was featured in New York Time business article in 2010.
Alex Gault
Vice President, Product Development & Client Services
Alex works with media companies to produce video apps which enhance audience engagement on mobile devices, internet enabled TVs and computers.
An experienced media industry entrepreneur, Alex has successfully implemented product and market strategies for online media, magazines, and educational services in the USA and Canada. In his previous role as director of marketing and community management for a social networking app used by over 2 million people on Facebook, he discovered firsthand the promise of integrating social media with apps. As a former product marketing lead for an elearning platform, publisher of an award-winning national consumer magazine and managing editor of college textbooks, he understands the challenges of transforming creative ideas into commercial products.
Chris Geddes
Vice President of Global Sales
Chris is an entrepreneurial media professional with a proven record of developing markets to monetize content and drive innovations in Advertising.
As a creator, producer and distributor of television programming Chris has had a hands on experience with the revolution underway in media. For over a decade he has been developing content and deal scenarios to incorporate a multitude of emerging channels to serve the needs of advertisers, agencies and broadcasters. As Vice President of Business and Program Development at one of Canadas leading independent production companies Chris developed first to market Branded Entertainment strategies for leading Canadian brands including North Americas first text message voter impacted outcome of a television series for a wireless carrier partner. He is credited as a co-creator over 100 hours of nationally airing original Game show programming.

Pierre Magnan
Partner, Gowlings
Mr. Pierre Magnan is a partner in Gowlings' Calgary office where he leads the Calgary Corporate Finance and M&A Practice Group, and serves as a member of the Firm's Private Equity and U.S. Initiative executives.
Pierre helps clients achieve their business objectives by providing pragmatic advice on M&A, corporate finance, private equity matters and leveraging industry relationships for capital raising and deal sourcing.
Pierre began his career with a Wall Street firm, and prior to joining Gowlings, was a partner at another leading national firm. He is admitted to the Law Society of England and Wales, the New York bar, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Law Society of Alberta.
Pierre frequently represents Canadian, U.S. and internationally-based investment and private equity funds on acquisitions, minority, joint venture and other investments in public and private Canadian companies.
Kevin Shea
Owner and President of SheaChez Inc.
Mr. Kevin Shea is the Owner and President of SheaChez Inc. Mr. Shea serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Media Development Corp. and served as president and Chief Executive Officer of YTV Canada and GRC Productions Ltd. from 1988 to 1993. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Satellite Radio to Canada of SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (formerly, Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.) since July 22, 2004 and also served as its President. Mr. Shea served as Chief Executive Officer and President of SIRIUS Canada, Inc. He has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian entertainment, broadcasting, cable, telecommunications and culture industries. Mr. Shea served as the President of the Toronto '03 Tourism recovery initiative, a major public/private partnership responsible for promoting travel to the city. In that role, he oversaw promotion work for the Rolling Stones "SARS-stock" concert. He served as an Executive Vice President for Bell Global Media Inc., and President and Chief Operating Officer of the Global Television Network and President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantis Communications Inc. Prior to Sirius, he served as the Chief Operating Officer & Group Executive Vice-President of Convergence for Bell Globemedia, the largest media company in Canada.
Prior to 1993, Mr. Shea occupied senior management positions for a diverse group of broadcast and entertainment entities, including YTV Canada Inc., Rogers Cablesystems Inc. and Cable Satellite Network Inc. He has been Chairman of Ontario Media Development Corp., since September 2006. He served as Chair Person of StreamTheWorld, Inc. Mr. Shea served as Chairman of Sirius Satellite Radio in Canada. He has been a Director of Intertainment Media Inc. since March 2008. He serves as Member of the Board of Advisors at 80/20 Solutions Inc.
He serves as director of Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc. Mr. Shea serves on the Telus Television Advisory Board and the Marketing Board of the National Capital Commission. His commitment to Canadian broadcasting is evident from his involvement in a number of industry associations including the Canadian Film Centre (Chairman), Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, Canadian Women in Communications (named 2004 Mentor of the Year), Canadian Cable Television Association, Canadian Film and Television Production Association, Banff International Television Festival, Life Network, Prime TV Network, CN Tower Limited, Children's Broadcast Institute and the Canadian Children's Foundation. Mr. Shea graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1984 and York University in 1975.
Lew Turnquist

Mr. Lew Turnquist has 20 years of operational and transactional experience in telecommunications and technology companies: public and private, mature and early-stage, high-growth and turnaround challenges.
Lews career has spanned a variety of disciplines, including marketing, product management and business development and he has built an active consulting practice focusing on the financing of early-stage companies. He was most recently CEO of VX Technologies Inc., a 3D measurement product company where he successfully implemented a turnaround strategy focusing on new and more profitable markets. Prior to VX, Lew held executive positions at several early-stage companies including President of J Commerce Inc., a retail point-of-sale software company; EVP & COO of wireless location equipment vendor Cell-Loc Inc. and CEO of its wholly-owned wireless location services subsidiary TimesThree Inc.; and was a founding team member, Director of Marketing & AVP of Corporate Communications at Saraide Inc, a joint venture of Nortel, Microcell, Omnipoint, Ericsson and GSM Capital, and the worlds first wireless Internet service company. His early career was spent with AGT Cellular (now TELUS Mobility), Nortel, and New North Media, a Nortel/NBTel/Bell Canada joint venture delivering interactive services before the rise of the Internet.
Lew has been a director and board member of several early-stage ventures including Infowave Software, Inc., a pioneer of the wireless enterprise applications. He currently sits on the board of directors of Calgary Economic Development and is a part-time business instructor. He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and a BSc from the University of Kings College.

Duncan Stewart
Director of Research, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Deloitte Canada
Mr. Duncan Stewart is the Director of Deloitte Canada Research in the areas of Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT). He is a member of Deloitte's national TMT executive team, is a co-author of Deloitte Research's annual Predictions report on trends in TMT, and is one of Canada's leading futurists.
Duncan has two decades of experience in the TMT industry. As an analyst and portfolio manager, he has provided research or made investments in the entire Canadian technology and telecommunications sector. He has written research on names such as Nortel and Celestica, and been a venture capital investor in Research in Motion and OpenText, among others.
Duncan was a co-founder of Tera Capital, Canada's first high tech and biotech money manager, where he was responsible for managing both mutual funds and VC funds and was the Canadian Technology Fund Manager of the Year in 2003. In the mid 1990s,
Duncan managed a $150 million small cap high tech/biotech fund at a large Canadian pension fund manager. In his years as an investor he has deployed a cumulative $2 billion of capital into the global TMT and Life Science markets.
Duncan has a high profile media presence and is frequently interviewed on technology, media and telecommunications issues. He has a brand new Technology column in the Globe and Mail online edition every two weeks.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. But he has geek credibility too: at Banff NextMedia in 2010 he participated (and won) the iPad App demo contest.
George Cooney

George Cooney is a recognized business builder, entrepreneur, startup advisor and investor in the communications and internet technology industries with more than 30+ years of experience helping build highly successful companies. Throughout career, George established a record for entrepreneurial initiatives realizing growth opportunities through strategic vision and hands-on business building experience. He currently is a board member /advisor /investor to several early stage companies. Since 2004 George has served as a venture partner advisor to Summerhill Venture I Fund and its predecessor BCE Capital Fund.
From 2002-2004 George co-founded a venture backed company focused on building a first generation mobile platform for the adoption of mobile applications in fortune 500 enterprises. Previously, he held several senior executive positions at Nortel Networks spanning a 20+ year career with multi-disciplinary roles in business strategy, operations and finance, product marketing, channel management and new business development. In Nortel, he served as a Senior Vice President responsible for Nortels Corporate Development and Ventures group from 1997 to 2001, where he oversaw Nortels direct investments and acquisition strategies with emerging technology companies and strategic partnerships with venture capital funds. In a prior role George led initiatives in Nortels strategic international development activities based in Europe, during a period of rapid global expansion that supported the realization of Nortels international revenue growth from 0 million to billion. George began his career at Telenet (acquired by GTE), the pioneer in internet packet switching networks founded by the leaders of the DARPA ARPANET.
