MoboVivo offers new twist on takeout

Calgary-based MoboVivo and Joe Media Group inked a deal this week to bring the popular food show - which airs on Food Network Canada and, in the US, American Life and Discovery Asia - to mobile devices across North America for a download fee of $1.99 per episode. more

Apple iPhone

Calgary, Canada—June 29, 2007—MoboVivo Inc. will be releasing a small amount of full television programs on Apple’s new iPhone starting the same day the iPhone is released in the United States.

The programming will be available on iPhones from iphone.mobovivo.com starting the evening of June 29.

Eyes are turning to new video iPod

When Apple Computer unveiled the video-enabled version of its best-selling iPod last year, there were scoffs in the TV industry. Who would really want to watch a one-hour episode of Desperate Housewives on a pint-sized screen? Quite a few, as it turns out. Much like the personal video recorder before it, the trendy gizmo is threatening to revolutionize the television set by giving viewers more control than ever over when, and how, they watch their favourite programs. The video iPod, which holds as many as 150 hours of video along with music and photos, is the latest gadget to strike a chord with techno-geeks, teens and yoga moms who'd rather not rearrange their schedules to watch a show.  It's also become a launch pad for MoboVivo, a Calgary start-up company that offers homegrown television content specifically tailored for viewing on a 6.35-cm screen.
